  • All shipments sent from or received into India need KYC documents (Government recognized Identity and Address proof) to be presented to Customs during shipment clearance (reference: Customs Circular No. 9/2010).

  • Absence of these documents will mean clearance delay as shipments will go into Customs Bond until KYC documents are provided by the shipper or consignee based in India.

  • The below table provides more information about KYC documents required for shipment customs clearance. As a shipper or consignee, you can refer to the type of document that you need to submit based on type of your organization – in the table below.
Packing and Weighing Guidelines

Dics Express works on transparent principles. It is imperative for us that every courier

The Shipping Box

Choose a strong, high-quality cardboard box to hold your shipment. Boxes should be sturdy, damage-free, and capable of protecting goods during international transit. At Dics Express, we provide FREE pickup, re-packaging, fuel surcharge coverage, insurance, and complete door-to-door delivery with no hidden costs.

Inside the Box

Proper packing inside the box is essential for the safety of your goods. We recommend using rigid fibreboard cartons for fragile items and ensuring the contents do not shift during handling. Lightweight items such as documents can be placed in cardboard envelopes, while electronic accessories, tapes, or keys should be packed in bubble or padded envelopes.

Cushioning Materials

High-quality wrapping and cushioning materials are vital to protect items during shipment. Always use sufficient padding to avoid loose contents and cushion fragile items from all sides. Secure discs, tapes, and other media in protective bags. Well-cushioned packaging helps ensure safe delivery without damage.

Distinctive Items

When packing delicate items, ensure sharp objects are covered with cardboard, small goods in polythene bags, and food or semi-liquids sealed in sturdy plastic within fibreboard boxes. Use padded or bubble envelopes for fragile electronics, cardboard envelopes for documents, and avoid fabric envelopes for international shipping.

Sealing and Labelling

Your package must be sealed securely with quality adhesive tape, especially along the edges where carton flaps meet. Remove any old stickers or labels if reusing a box. Place a fresh shipping label provided by Dics Express on the top side of your box.

Take a Photo

For your records, always take a photo of your package after sealing and labelling. At Dics Express, we also take photos of every box before dispatch to ensure safe handling and accountability.
